
Jolyne retrieves Jotaro's Stand Disc, but Pucci only needs Jotaro's memory Disc to complete his plan. The process of DIO's plan was outlined in his diary, which Jotaro had previously read and burnt after killing him, forcing Pucci to steal the latter's memories to continue DIO's plan. Though 23 years have passed since DIO's death, Pucci proceeds with his plan to realize this "perfect world", which involves absorbing the remnants of DIO's ability and arriving at a predestined place on the night of the new moon.

While in DIO's company, DIO spoke of "Heaven" and how to create a "perfect world" when certain conditions were met. Pucci met and idolized DIO sometime before the events of Part 3. Jolyne also fights and befriends Foo Fighters, a plankton colony that has obtained one of Whitesnake's Stand Discs and uses its abilities to inhabit a female prisoner's corpse. Along the way, she picks up allies such as Emporio Alnino, a boy born in prison Ermes Costello, a young woman seeking revenge for her sister Narciso Anasui, who soon falls into unrequited love for Jolyne and Weather Report, an amnesiac whose memory Disc had been stolen by Pucci. As Jotaro sinks into a deathlike state, Jolyne realizes the extent of his love for her, and resolves to recover the discs from Whitesnake's user, a Catholic priest known as Enrico Pucci. Their plan goes awry when a Stand named Whitesnake uses its power to remove Jotaro's Stand and memories in the form of Discs. Jotaro then informs his daughter that a disciple of DIO's framed her so that he could kill her in prison, and urges her to escape. Jotaro, who was divorced from Jolyne's mother, comes to visit her, but is rebuffed due to his absence from Jolyne's life. Lucie, Florida in 2011, the story follows Jotaro Kujo's estranged daughter, Jolyne Cujoh, who is framed for a murder and ends up in Green Dolphin Street Jail.

An anime adaptation, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean, was announced in April 2021 and is set to be released on Decemon Netflix.

It was preceded by Golden Wind and followed by Steel Ball Run. In its original publication, it was known as JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 6 Jolyne Cujoh: Stone Ocean. It was serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump from Januto Apand was collected into 17 tankōbon volumes.
